A great fuss is starting in the Gori Municipality. In a few days, Republic Party will introduce the Municipality Chairman with the black list of those municipality deputies who have illegally occupied various positions.

Some time ago, a journalist for the Human Rights Center’s Gori office wrote in his article that a criminal case was launched on current chairman of the District Municipality, Marlen Nadiradze for illegal possession and usage of gun. Somebody had fired from that gun in the restaurant of ‘Gudabertkhia’ and its cartridge-cases were withheld from the scene.

Former MP Badri Nanetashvili was threatened by Nadiradze and investigation was launched on the fact.

As for other municipality members, Shalva Tlashadze from the Republic Party said that under the law on self-government, the organizations which are financed from the state budget can not be headed by the Municipality deputies. “Gori District Forest Department is funded from the district budget with 150 thousand lari. The director of the abovementioned department is Malkhaz Kakashvili who is also a deputy of the Municipality. In fact, Kakashvili funds himself and monitors his department,” said Tlashadze.

Kakashvili claimed in his conversation with the Human Rights Center that there is no incompatibility of positions in his case. He added that if he has breached any law, he is ready to resign from his position of municipality deputy.

The head of the Municipality Administration, Tamar Muralova said that abovementioned accusations are unreasonable. “Gori District Forest Department does not subordinate the municipality yet. Thus, Kakashvili can be a municipality deputy under the law. We shall discuss the question at the municipality meeting,” said Muralova.

Members of the Republic Party pay attention to the events that took place in the Dzevera Majority County Municipality. Tamar Muralova resigned from her position in the Dzevera Municipality when she was appointed to her position of the head of the administration. According to the center’s information, Gia Khokhashvili, Muralova’s substitution and another substitution Mamuka Lomsadze refuse to become members of the municipality. Consequently, the Dzevera Majority County Municipality does not have any deputies though it consists of several villages.

Muralova said that Khokhashvili and Lomsadze refused to become municipality deputies according to their wish. “Although these villages remained without deputies, I will draw my attentive to them,” said the head of the administration.

Tlashadze wonders how Muralova will manage to pay attention to the village as she has no right to raise question at the municipality meeting.
