Melor Vachnadze Was Attacked Again

One more fact is added to the numerous facts of attacking the opposition demonstrators. The victim is one of the demonstrators of the opposition, Melor Vachnadze.

Nine unknown persons attacked one of the opposition demonstrators, Melor Vachnadze, near the Collective Farm Square on Sunday evening. He was beaten.

According to the witnesses, the attackers were dressed in civilian clothes in a car stenciled like a taxi. Without any dispute or argument they began beating Vachnadze . Afterwards, the attackers immediately left the scene.

The emergency brigade took Vachnadze to the Republic hospital where he was given first aid and then examined. No official statement was made about exactly what injuries Vachnadze had. According to the doctors, his condition is stable.

Rita Maisuradze, mother of Vachnadze, visited him at the Republic hospital at midnight on Sunday. After leaving the hospital she told the journalists that her son was attacked from behind near the Collective Farm Square and afterward lost consciousness. According to his mother, one more incident happened yesterday. Vano Vachnadze, father of Melor Vachnadze, at 19:00, was shot at while sitting in the car on Ninoshvili Street where they live. According to Rita Maisuradze, 7 bullets were shot at the car but Vano Vachnadze was not injured. An inquiry was held.

According to Rita Maisuradze, the father of Melor Vachnadze did not want to connect this incident to the political activities of his son.

According to Salome Zurabishvili, the leader of Sakartvelos Gza (Georgian Way), Vachnadze had his third vertebra broken. According to the supporters of Vachnadze, he did not lose consciousness and could recognize some attackers. Later Vachnadze named as an attacker Giorgi Kakulia, one of the activists of the youth organization of the National Movement..

The name of Melor Vachnadze is connected to the incident of the beating of journalist Nika Avaliani in front of Public Broadcasting. After this incident Vachandze and his two partners were arrested. The demonstration held in front of the Ministry of Security where the demonstrators demanded to set them free is also connected to his name. The demonstration ended with the physical clash between the police and the demonstrators. The young people who were set free with the help of the patriarch were speaking about torture. The signs of torture could be easily noticed on their bodies. According to Melor Vachnadze, he was always watched and pursued. He was also threatened. After visiting the singer Utsnobi, unkown people shot him at the building of the TV channel.
