Tunnel Discovered in Rustavi Maximum Security Prison

A tunnel 57 meters long was found in Rustavi Maximum Secutiry Prison #2, through measures carried out by members of the prison staff. 

According to the chairman of Penitentiary Department, Shota Kopadze, they received information about the existence of the channel several months ago and had been working on the issue.

An investigation is underway, to find the people responsible. Some members of the prison staff may have been involved. The  department, the reaction will be very strict if proved their participation.

Nowadays 736 convicts serve sentence in Rustavi strict regime facility #2.
