Judges Will Conduct Seminars on Human Rights

The Judicial Study  Center is continuing to hold seminars regarding the European Convention on Human Rights. On February 16, a two day seminar will take place at the center, with 20 judges taking part.

This seminar, organized by the Judicual Study Center and the Human Rights Directorate of the Council of Europe, will be led by experts from the Council of Europe: K. Zyman,  Dew Korp and Helen Iansen.

The topic of the semiar will be: "The role of the  European Court of Human Rights in the process of applying the European Convention on Human Rights: From theory to practice, negative and positive obligations according to the Convention”, and will also deal with the requirements and procedures for applying to the European Court of Human Rights. In addition to the experts from the Council of Europe, Konstantine Korkelia, the deputy director of the Institute of State and Justice at the Georgian Academy of Science, will also make a report. He will discuss the application of the European Convention and the case law of the European Court in Georgia.
