45 Prisoners Escaped from Geguti Colony

On June 15, 2004, 45 prisoners escaped from Geguti colony. Guards tried to stop the prisoners, but the attempt ended with casulties. The prisoners were armed and opened  fire on the  guards, killing one of the guards.
The respective bodies were informed about the event. As a result of the measures carried out by law enforcement, they were able to detain several escapees. Irakli Okruashvili, the Interior Minister, gave a two days term to the escapees to return to the prisons (in this case they will not be charged with any additional accusation) otherwise the respective measures will be taken against them.
