The New Government Carries on Shevardnadze’s Policy

Tbilisi. 27.07.04. Media News.

The protest of supporters of Manana Archvadze-Gamsakhurdia has been renewed at the Ministry of Economy. The protesters demand the unconditional resignation of the Minister of Economy, Kakha Bendukidze, because, according to them, Bendukidze’s policy is directed at selling off Georgia. They charge the Minister of Economy with treason and advise him to return to Russia.

The protest is led by Manana Archvadze-Gamsakhurdia, the wife of ex-president Zviad Gamsakhurdia. She considers the new government to be continuing the criminal policy of Shevardnadze.

The protestors demand Kakha Bendukidze’s resignation and the protest began when the Minister published his list of objects/territory for privatization.
