Debt of Teachers’ Frozen Salaries Comprises 21 Million GEL

 Frozen salaries of teachers of secondary Schools, colleges and vocational lyceums comprise 21 million GEL for the years 1998 - 2003. Most of the money, approx. 17 million GEL, falls on school teachers.

It is not known yet how much of the frozen salaries will be paid by the budget which increased to 220 million GEL this year.

The statistics of the unpaid salaries show that salaries have not been paid for 16 months in Akhalkalaki, 12 months in Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri, 13 months in Akhaltsikhe, 14 months in Kareli, 11 months in Abasha, 8 months in Ninotsminda and Zugdidi, and 7 months in Kvareli.
