Journalists Bring Court Case Against Kakha Shengelia

Tbilisi. 28.07.04. Media News.

Seven former journalists from the newspaper “Khvalindeli Dge (Tomorrow)” applied to the General Prosecutor’s Office against Kakha Hengelia, the publisher of the newspaper.

They demand from Didube-Chugureti District Court fulfillment of the decision made on March 22, 2004. According to the decision, the newspaper had to immediately pay the seven journalists 3 months salaries amounting to 5,227 GEL.

As the journalists claim, they applied to court against Kakha Shengelia demanding the payment of their salary debts on July 17, 2003. On March 22, 2004 the court satisfied their complaint. The former staff members of the newspaper blame Shengelia with incorrect business enterprising, bookkeeping violations and concealing actual property.
