TV Company Adjara Ceases Operation Because of Debts

TV Company Adjara ceased broadcasting, because of outstanding debt of  220,000 EUR to the French Company “Global Ka.”

Aslan Abashidze, the former leader of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, concluded a contract with the company during his reign. As the television company Adjara is state property, the government of Adjara was to cover the debt of the company.  The above-mentioned contract is valid through August 2006.
