Levan Mamaladze Will Be Tried by the Court Without his Presence

Tbilisi. 18.08.04 Media-News. Levan Mamaladze, former governor of Kvemo Kartli is accused of 32 episodes. 31 of them refer to taking bribes and one to organizing the cancellation of the voting paper.
The amount of money extorted by Mamaladze exceeds 600 000 Gel.
Mamaladze is wanted according to the court decision. Should law-enforcers be unable to detain Mamalazde, he could be tried without attending the court proceeding according to the current law.
As for Aleksandre Aladashvili, the attorney of Mamaladze, he considers his client innocent with regards to all accusations and urges that the prosecution office does not have enough evidences against Mamaladze
