The Regime of Kokoiti Breaks the Agreement

Tbilisi. 18.08.04. Media News.  Despite the agreement reached by chairpersons of the joint controlling committee on stopping fire, the village of Eredvi and the road from Eredvi to Kheti were intensively bombed. The fire was opened from the villages controlled by Ossetians – from the Sarabuki, Dmenisi and Tsveriakho hills.
Three persons of the Ministry of Interior of Georgia have been killed and five wounded. It is still too complicated to try and move them from the conflict zone as the danger of bombing still exists.
The Georgian side answered with fire in return, though the Ossetian side does not spread any information about the number of victims.
Information is spread that tens of people - mainly children and women - have left Tskhinvali because of the intensive shootings.
To remember, the meeting of the joint controlling committee is planed to be held today and Kokoiti will attend it. The question regarding a meeting of kokoiti and Zurab Zhvania, the Georgian Prime-minister will be decided at this meeting.
The issue of taking 30% of Georgian military formations from the conflict zone has been removed from  the agenda because of the afore-mentioned bombing and breaking of the agreement.
