Abkhaz Ombudsman Against Tbilisi City Administration

Media News.Media News. Murman Chkhotua, the Ombudsman of Abkhazia, considers the exile IDPs from the hotel “Iveria” to be a very sudden decision.
He supports the idea of caring for the appearance of the city but states that there was not such an urgency to evict the IDPs so quickly.

Chkhotua helped IDPs living in Iveria to meet the Public Defender of Georgia, Mr Temur Lomsadze. A petition was prepared for the city government which should take into consideration their demands for the next time.

Acording to Chkhotua, the IDPs from Abkhazia face the problem of finding new residences within the framework of the offered money as prices for real estate (bought or rented) have been raised since then.

The government of Tbilisi gave the hotel "Iveria" to German investors wherein the companies “Heiet” and “Kempinski” will renovate the structure into a first-class hotel.
