Media News. According to the order of President Saakashvili, the former prisoner Tengiz Asanidze has received Euro340 000 compensation of his moral injury. The assigned sum amounts to Euro155 000 which is the added percentage for the delay in paying the compensation. The money has been allocated from the reserve funds of Georgia.

Despite the fact that Tengiz Asanidze had been pardoned by former President Edward Shevardnadze, he was detained in the isolator of the Security Ministry of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara for nine years. He was released in spring this year according to the decision of the European Court.
