Ministry of Justice Demands Release of 400 Prisoners

Tbilisi.10.09.04.Media-News. The Georgian Ministry of Justice has sent a list of prisoners being charged with minor offences to the General prosecution asking to replace pre-detention with other kinds of penitentiary measures.
According to Giorgi Papuashvili, Minister of Justice, the prosecution office is discussing the mentioned initiative.

The number of persons being sentenced to pre-detention has increased significantly. There are approximately 3000 detainees in Tbilisi prison #1.
