The Supreme Court Discusses the Confiscation Issue of Gogi Kupreishvili

Tbilisi.30.09.04.Media-News. On October 12 the Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court will consider the issue of legality of Gogi Kupreishvili’s property, the former deputy of the Security Ministry of Adjara (Autonomous Republic of Georgia).

The Supreme Court has extended the term of pre-detention for 2 months to Gogi Kupreishvili, partly satisfying the request of the Prosecution Office.

According to the decision of the Supreme Court of Adjara, taken in August this year, three apartments in Batumi, one apartment in Abasha and a piece of land were confiscated from Kupreishvili. 

As lawyer Eka Beselia declared, that Kupreishvili’s family has no home now, because the court confiscated even the inherited house.

Gogi Kupreishvili was imprisoned at May 9. The investigation charges him in illegally keeping imprisoned for years Tengiz Asanidze, the former mayor of Batumi and in illegally keeping weapons.  His term of free detention expires by October 9.
