Prosecutor Demands 2 year Sentence for Violation of Public Order

Tbilisi.29.10.04. Media News. On October 29, the criminal case against Tamaz Tsiklauri, Shota Shonia and Lasha Katsanashvili was heard in Mtatsminda-Krtsanisi District Court. The Prosecutor demanded to sentence the above-mentioned persons to 2 years of imprisonment. The Defence states that the accused are not guilty and that their detention by the authorities is founded on political motives.

Mtatsminda-Krtsanisi District Court postponed the passing of the sentence for two days. The sentence will be pronounced on Monday.

For information: Tamaz Tsiklauri, Shota Shonia and Lasha Katsanashvili were detained for violating public order and insulting the Minister of Economy at a protest action held at the  Ministry of Economy.
