Injured Party Demands Basil Mkalavishvili to Apologize


Media News. On November 8, Vake-Saburtalo regional court of  Tbilisi continued the review of Basil Mkalavishvili’s criminal law case.

Basil Mkalavishvili and six members of his parish are charged with breaking up an ecumenical prayer session and raiding religious minorities. The accused men plead not guilty and state that they practise ”Satanists’ Pursuit“ by these means.

Representatives of the evangelical church have been interrogated at the trial. Like the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the so called “Fifties“ the above-mentioned are also recognized victims. According to them, if Basil Mkalavishvili apologizes publicly, they will take their complaints back and won’t have any pretention.

Basil Mkalavishvili is not going to apologize and states, that his actions are fair and similar sects must not exist in Georgia.

The trial will continue on November 9.
