Confrontation in Adjara Election Commission

Tbilisi.12.11.04.Media News. A change in the staff has been made in the Supreme Election Commission of Adjara. Guguli Duidze, a member of the Republican Party has been dismissed from the position of the Deputy Chairperson of the Commission and has been replaced with Tamaz Sharashenidze, a member of the National Movement.

According to Duidze, she had been dismissed on demand of the leadership of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara for being the representative of the opposition party. What is more, she protested against the falsification of election results of the Adjara Supreme Council.
Irakli Fagava, Chairman of the Supreme Election Commission states that Duidze will remain  member of the Commission and will be appointed as the Head of one of the departments.
The Supreme Election Commission comprises 8 members. The members of the National Movement, Industry Will Save Georgia, the Republican Party and representatives of the Supreme Council have 2 places each.
