Students’ Initiative – “Self-Governance”

November 12, 2004

Students’ Initiative – “Self-Governance”

For a long time, many organizations and students at University have been involved in activities dedicated to the introduction of self-governance. Among the most active organizations is – Students’ Initiative – “Self-Governance”. It members have been in opposition with the old university administration for considerable time.

On November 10, 2004 at a press conference held at Liberty Institute Levan Ramishvili accused all students in opposition to be engaged in corruption.

Students' Initiative – “Self-Governance” interprets this statement to mean that all students and organizations not sharing the stand-point of Levan Ramishvili and Liberty Institute (the only true stand-point) is not a mere clash of opinions but a method to establish monopolistic thinking at University.

Students’ Initiative – “Self-Governance” expressed major concerns regarding the above-mentioned statement.. Corruption involves not only bribery but it can also mean the forceful implementation of government order.

It is only by way of well-reasoned discussion that the basis for sucessful reform implementation will be created.
