Tbilisi Mayor Denies Accusations

Tbilisi.14.11.04.Media News. Zurab Chiaberasvili, Tbilisi City Mayor denies the accusation against him and Kakha Labuchidze, Gldani-Nadzaladevi District Governor made by Tamaz Zurabishvili, Director of Trade Centre functioning on the territory of the Silk Factory. Zurab Chiaberashvili promises strict measures against the Gldani-Nadzaladevi District Governor should the accusation be proven. However, should the facts fail to prove the allegations, Tamaz Zurabishvili’s statement will be considered as calumny.

According to Zurabishvili, Kakha Labuchidze offered him a bribe in the name of Tbilisi Mayor in order to prolong the process of moving of furniture traders from the National Stadium to the territory of Silk Factory thus giving the Tbilisi Mayor’s Office time to offer the traders an alternative place.

For information: the issue of moving furniture traders from “Dinamo” National Stadium had been  raised by Bidzina Bregadze, City Premier, who was the first to offer the traders the territory of Silk Factory. Later, Tbilisi Mayor offered the territory of “Electric Equipments” in Sanzona, one of the districts of Tbilisi, which proved to be much more acceptable for the traders.

Corridor talks have it that Tamaz Zurabishvili made the above-mentioned statement by instructions of the City Premier in order to compromise Zurab Chiaberashvili, Tbilisi City Mayor.

The City Mayor and the Gldani-Nadzaladevi District Governor have dismissed the accusations as absurd.
