Eka Beselia, Lawyer against Financial Police

Tbilisi.08.12.04. Media News. Eka Beselia, Lawyer filed an action in Prosecutor General’s Office against Zurab Adeishvili, Security Minister and Giorgi Kakulia, Chief Prosecutor of Financial Police.

The lawyer protests 7 hours of “arbitrary detention” of Nana Chachava, Head of Education Civil Department of Tbilisi Mayor’s Office in Financial Police which took place on December 7.

According to Beselia Nino Chachava was released only after she (Eka Beselia) managed to contact Giorgi Kakulia, Chief Prosecutor of Financial Police.

“Nino Chachava was summoned to police for giving certain explanation and there she was detained for seven hours. Giving explanation is at a person’s disposal and police did not have right to detain her. I have the impression that they were waiting for orders from the high echelons” – states Eka Beselia.

The lawyer says that there was nothing concrete that Nino Chachava could be accused of. She was told that they were waiting for some documents which were not delivered.

Nino Chachava is contradicted with one of the participants of the tender held for providing schools of Tbilisi with heating.
