Chechen Refugees did not Receive the Delegation from Russia

Tbilisi.17.12.04. Media News. The Prefect of Chechnya Itonkale District, Deputy Minister of Interior of Chechnya and Advisors as well as representatives of Ministry of Emergency of the Russian Federation visited Village Duisi of Pankisis Gorge on December 17, but the Chechen refugees residing their refused to meet them.

The delegation was going to offer the refugees to return to Chechnya and also 350 000 Rubles as a compensation.

According to the refugees they will not return to their homeland without strong guarantees of safety and security and they prefer to move to the so called third country.

The delegation was received by Djaraf Khangoshvili, Chairman of the Council of Village Duisi. At the meeting it was said that representatives of the Chechen government will try to meet the refugees and have talks with them on December 18, without representatives of the Ministry of Emergency of the Russian Federation.

Russian high-ranking officials left Pankisi Gorge on December 17 and representatives of the Republic of Chechnya decided to stay in Telavi.

News
