Management of Tbilisi State University Meskheti Branch Uncovered

Tbilisi.19.01.2005.Media-News. Law authorities have uncovered that some of the managers of the Meskheti Branch of Tbilisi State University may have abused their power frequently during the years 2003-2004.  In one instance, the managers neglected the president's decree of September 23, 1996 regarding "Additional Measures for Preparing Students as Reservation Officers for Military Forces," resulting in an illegal overcharge to Meskheti students of 330 GEL.

The money collected in this way amounted to 58,785 GEL despite the Georgian government's resolution that schools of higher education were to ensure the financing of the military chambers from the state budget.

Evidentiary materials have been sent to the Samtskhe-Djavakheti Regional Prosecutor's Office.
