Russian Peacekeepers Detained by Georgian Law-enforcement

Tbilisi 21.03.05. Media-News.   Members of the rapid deployment battalion of the Georgian armed forces detained four Russian peacekeepers in the village of Ganmukhuri, near the conditional border of Abkhazia.

The armed soldiers had attempted to enter the yard of a local resident. After being detained, the group, which consisted of two Russians, an Armenian and a Kabardian, was taken to the Georgian battalion’s headquarters in Zugdidi.  At their interrogation, the soldiers explained that someone had stolen their horse and they were looking for it in the village. So far it is unclear whether or not the soldiers would be released upon completion of the investigation.
