The Office of the Conservative Party Attacked

Tbilisi. 07.04.05. Media News. Last night unknown men entered the Conservative Party’s office, stealing computers and computer discs. According to party members other valuables were left untouched.
Law enforcers investigate the case.

But the Conservatives Party has accused law enforcers of robbing their office.

“We urge Vano Merabishvili [Internal Minister] to return our computers, as he has already seen that the materials which they are looking for are not on the computers”- said Zviad Dzidziguri, co-leader of the Conservative Party, at a press conference on April 7.

Conservative Party leader Koba Davitashvili described the incident which took place at the Conservatives’ Office as a special operation and referred to the law enforcers who carried out the investigation of the robbery as a ‘monitoring group’ checking the results of the robbery.

Davitashvili also touched on the results of the examination made on the brake system of his car, which according to experts from the Ministry of Justice and the Technical University, had been intentionally disabled by somebody.

Davitashvili has asked police why nobody was interrogated about the vehicle’s situation and why the criminal case was opened on a count of property damage, focusing on the damage done to his car’s brakes, and not for attempted murder. He says that in any normal country such a case would focus on why the brakes were disabled.
