Protest Organizers Detained

Protest Organizers Detained

Kutaisi. 24.05.05. Media News. Organizers of a protest action in the Bagdati district have been detained. The demonstrators were demanding electricity.

Law enforcement officials argue that they were arrested because of the attack on David Muradashvili, manager of the Bagdati branch center of the power distributing company. However, people blame Muradashvili in provoking the incident, claiming that the manager’s behavior was unacceptable.

According to the Imereti branch of the distributing company, electricity to Bagdati was cut off because of outstanding debts, and the district will be provided with electricity only after paying the money that is owed.
