Khizri Aldamov: Russians Deceive Chechen Refugees, and do not Take Them Back!

Tbilisi.30.05.05.Media News. “The information about returning Chechen refugees back to their homeland is just a lie”- Khizri Aldamov, the head of the Chechen-Kists Diaspora in Georgia, gives the assessment to the activities of the representatives of the Ministry of Extraordinary Affairs of Russia in Pankisi Gorge.

According to the Russian media, 18 Chechens returned to Chechnya from the Pankisi Gorge on May 29. They were taken to a temporary shelter that is located on Kolcovo street of Staropromishlovo district in Grozny.

Representatives of the Ministry of Extraordinary Affairs of Russia, together with the representatives of the Migration Department of the Interior Ministry of Chechnya promised refugees to assist them in getting necessary documentation.

Khizri Aldamov declared that only those Kist refugees returned home who had problems with passports and with the families. According to Aldamov, those refugees returned not to Grozny, but to the Iton-Kale district, which borders Pankisi Gorge.

“People go to from these adjacent villages as it is, without any trouble since Chechens living in Pankisi have relatives there. Thus, the information about Chechen refugee returning home is a mere exaggeration from the Russian side and mass media” – says Aldamov.

He calls upon the Georgian government to block the roads leading to Pankisi Gorge for the representatives of the Ministry of Extraordinary Affairs of Russia since they do the same as in Abkhazia – issuing Russian passports to Pankisi residents.
