Legal Process of Molashvili has been Postponed

Legal Process of Molashvili has been Postponed

On August 11 2005 the court discussed the case of ex-chairman of the Chamber of Control, Sulkhan Molashvili. Judge Manuchar Kapanadze did not satisfy the demand of Nemsadze, the attorney of Molashvili to give 30 days in order to study the case.

The decision of the judge was based on the fact that the attorney did not use the time rationally that had already been granted to him during last process.

The advocate didn’t agree with the judge decision. He stated that is not going to continue the defense of Molashvili because he was not granted with the enough time to study the case adequately.

Nemsadze demanded disposal of the judge. However, his demand was not satisfied and he left the court hall for the sign of protest.

According to the decision of the court, Molashvili was given the new advocate, though the ex-chairman of the Chamber of Control refused to have a new advocate. He stated that the procurator puts pressure on the judge. According to article 109, Molashvili requested protection for the members of his family, who are under pressure and victims of threats.

The judge considered protection of convict’s family members important. He scheduled next process on August 16t, at 12 am.
