Government Encourages Teaching of the State Language in Non-Georgian Schools

Tbilisi.28.08.05.Media News. For three days now, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has been implementing the project - “Support of teaching Georgian as the second language at non-Georgian schools of Samtskhe-Javakheti” at the schools of Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda.

The project is financed by the High Commission of OSCE on national minorities. The aim of the project is to support the teaching of the state language to non-Georgian citizens, to implement new study standards, to elaborate the methodology and to raise the qualification of teachers.

250 Georgian language teachers will participate in the trainings. Bela Tsipuria, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science, will attend the trainings.

The project will come to an end on August 30.
