Protests in Batumi Prison

13/09/05. GHN. Three prisoners in jail №3 in Batumi - Zviad Dvalishvili, Mamuka Zhordania and Roman Baltak - refused to eat and sewed up their mouths. The prisoners who are accused of robbery and theft are protesting against the process of investigation.

Dvalishvili is diabetic and Zhordania suffers from asthma. The family members of the prisoners are concerned about their health, while the jail staff says that their condition is stable.
