Ramaz Klimiashvili: Naming a Street after George W Bush is Flattery

14/09/05. Media News – Political scientist Ramaz Klimiashvili thinks that the government is degrading itself to flattery for naming the street in the Isani-Samgori district after George W Bush.

“No country has the practice of naming a street after the current president of the US. If someone would want to give a street the name of a US president, they should take Abraham Lincoln, George Washington or John Kennedy. George W Bush rules America today, but he will be retired sooner or later. So I think the decision made by the Tbilisi Municipally is rather funny. ”

Klimiahsvili thinks that in this case, Georgia should name the streets after the presidents of neighboring countries like Russia or Turkey.
