Presidential Initiative Rejected by the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights
14/09/05, GHN – The Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and the Civic Integration Council rejected the Initiative of President Saakashvili to change the law regarding the office of the Prosecutor General. According to the proposed changes, legal experts would no longer need 5 years of work experience to be allowed to work as a Civil or General Prosecutor.
At present, a person who does not have the required experience is not allowed to be nominated for the post of General Prosecutor.
