Pensioners Held Demonstration in Front of Parliament Building

04/10/05, “Media News” – Today pensioners of the military and veterans of war held a demonstration in front of the building of the Georgian Parliament. They oppose the new law on State Benefits prepared by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs. According to the new law, state benefits and pensions are reduced.

The Member of Parliament Koba Davitashvili met the demonstrators and promised them that the “Conservative Party” would oppose the new law in the Parliament.

The leaders of the civil movement “Go Ahead, Georgia” Irakli Batiashvili and George Kobakhidze also attended the protest and offered the demonstrators to take part in the meeting organized by the movement.

The Civil Movement “Go Ahead, Georgia” is going to hold this meeting on the 5th of October.
