The 11 year-old Geno Petriashvili, kidnapped from the village of Nuli in the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict zone three months ago, has been freed.

The Ministry of Interior of the breakaway region of South Ossetia reported that militia conducted a special operation for Petriashvili's release at the borderline territory with Georgia.

“On the 25th of November, 4:10 a.m. the special operation for the release of the kidnapped 11 year-old boy Genadi Petriashvili was over. Officers of the militia and staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia conducted the operation for two days in the territory of the Georgian border. The health condition of the child is stable”, - declares the committee of press and information of the breakaway region of South Ossetia.

The details of the operation are not yet known.

According to the military chief of the Georgian Battalion in the conflict zone Paata Bedianashvili, the South Ossetian side is spreading wrong information. Genadi Petriashvili was freed in the area controlled by the separatist government of Tskhinvali.
