More than 3000 Pensioners Held a Protest in Front of the Parliament

02.12.2005, “Media News” – A large number of pensioners has held a protest in front of the Parliament. The demonstration was organized by the fraction “Democratic Front”. Demonstrators protested against a new law-project. According to the new law state benefits and pensions are reduced.

Koba Davitashvili, leader of the opposition “Conservative Party”, made a speech during the protest and accused Saakashvili of fulfilling none of the promises made to the citizens of Georgia during the “Rose Revolution”.

According to Davitashvili, people supported the program of the National Movement during the elections, but none of the points of the program was fulfilled.

The MP called protesters to continue the demonstration until their demands are satisfied.
