Committee on Procedural Affairs Criticizes Governmental Initiative

13.12.2005, “Media News” – The Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Affairs does not agree with one article in a new law project on the Civil Service. According to the law project, a person who is employed even after the contest, should pass an examination period. The deputy of the Minister of Finance Lasha Jhvania, introduced the mentioned law project to the committee.

The head of the Committee on Procedural Affairs Khatuna Gogorishvili finds this article too subjective and opens the door for abuse.

“If a person won the contest, he should be employed without any examination period”, - said Gogorishvili.

The other law project introduced by Jhvania was about the free days. According to the project, the existing 45 leave days for civil servants will be reduced to 30 days.

According to the argumentation of the Ministry of Finance, the changes are important for the bodies to work.

The Committee on Procedural Affairs did support this part of the mentioned law project.
