Prisoners still on Hunger Strike In Qsani Colony

In Qsani’s colony prisoners are still on hunger strike. The Head of the Parliamentary Human Rights Protection Committee Elene Tevdoradze has met them today.

According to her, 650 of the 700 prisoners participate in the action.
Tevdoradze says that they keep on throwing away food by which they symbolize their solidarity with prisoners beaten in the Kutaisi prison. 20 prisoners find themselves in very serious conditions.

According to the MP, the hunger strike is not connected to any organized criminal group or so-called “thieves in law”.

Members of the Human Rights Protection Committee Koka Guntsadze and Nazi Aronia have also visited the prisoners.
