Media Representatives and Others Protest Against Selling Printing House “Samshoblo”

Tbilisi. 24.01.06. “Media News”- Today, media sources located in printing house “Samshoblo” opposed the decision to sell the building which was issued by the Ministry of Economy. Participants in the protest actions plan to apply to court.

The warning demonstration lasted for two hours. Opposition parties also participated in the action. ”The government’s decision about selling “Samshoblo” in an auction is illegal and the personal interests of particular individuals and organizations is obvious. I do not possess the detailed and full information but it is clear that these persons are closely linked with the officials. The government took the decisions only in accordance with its private interests. The Labour Party will always support freedom of speech in the country and in case of necessity, we will assist the organizations located in the building with qualified lawyers”, member of the Labour Party Soso Shatberashvili told “Media News”.

Printing house “Samshoblo” is evaluated at 20 million American dollars. The Ministry of Economy planned the auction for March the 3rd.
