Public Defender’s Office Protests Pressure to Publish Mikheil Kareli’s Photos

The head of the Shida – Kartli’s administration press service held a meeting with the editors of local newspapers. Officially, the meeting was intended to deepen the cooperation between representatives of the press and Mikheil Kareli.

The demand of the press service at the meeting was to take into consideration their interests while publishing Kareli’s photos. In order to enrich the photo archive, the editors were offered to be provided with photos of Kareli. “I told the head of the press service that we possessed a good photo archive and did not experience a lack and consequently the necessity to have more of Kareli’s photographs. I was replied that the offer was made for the representatives of the state press only-, says Tinatin Vachadze, editor of the newspaper “Trialeti”.

The Public Defender’s Office responded to this attempt to push through Mikheil Kareli’s photos. Representatives of Sozar Subari’s office intend to meet the editors of the local newspapers in Gori. According to them, it does not matter who were demanded to agree with the publication of the photographs provided by the governor’s press service.
