Workers Claim Reorganization in Ajara TV is Illegal

After the reorganization of Ajara TV, 22 of its workers were sacked. Those who were sacked are claiming that the head of television, Evgeni Tavdgiridze dismissed those whom he found disagreeable. The marketing and program creation departments have now been merged.

“It’s not right to close a program without doing any research first. Evgeni Tavdgiridze just chose to close the programs he wanted to”, says the author of the program “Debatebi”, journalist Natia Sirabidze.

As sacked workers stated, some workers from cancelled programs found jobs in other posts.

“The creative projects and the marketing office have now been abolished and only those who had close relationship with head of the TV station are left. I am going to sue in court”, said a worker from the marketing office, Irma Zoidze.
