Teachers from Poti Hold a Strike

Poti, 16.02.2006, “Media News” – Teachers of the Secondary Schools of Poti held a protest today. Educators from 15 schools have stopped teaching, while salaries for December remain unpaid.

“We don’t like to stand here in the streets and not teach, but we think that someone obviously does not want us to fulfill our responsibilities”, says demonstrator Roza Adamia.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the teachers demand not unpaid salaries, but extra-wages, which the Local Governance had allotted by its own will.
