Print Journalists were not Allowed to Attend Minister of the Interior’s Briefing

According to newspaper “24 Saati”, on March 7 the print journalists were not allowed to attend Minister of the Interior’s briefing. The newspaper published an article called “Donadze’s Epoch” Is Over, “Donadze’s Epoch” Continues”.

The article was about the sacking of Ministry of Internal Affair’s Top Spokesperson Guram Donadze, the statement about that was made by the Minister, Vano Merabishvili during the aforementioned briefing.

The newspaper quoted the Minister’s words; Merabishvili expressed his hope that the new Spokesperson, Shota Khizanishvili would be able to have much better relations with the journalists.

“However, the better relations between mass media and the Ministry started with the ignoring of print media” – the author of the article wrote.

“There are new rules in the Ministry” – was the strict answer given to the blacklisted journalists, who, as it turns out, are disliked by the Minister” – newspaper “24 Saati” wrote.
