Most Significant Internet Phenomenon of the Year – National Internet Competition 2006 is Finished

Internet magazine and web-portal www.HumanRights.ge launched by Human Rights Information and Documentation Centre won the second prize on annual ‘National Internet Competition’.

The competition started on May 15, 2006. During a month more than 900 internet sites were registered aiming to take part in the competition. On June 21, the winner sites were rewarded. Winners had been revealed before by the professional Jury.

Within 5 nominations/categories the sites received money rewards and other valuable presents. As for other nominators (Corporation Site, State Non-governmental (NGOs) and Regional Resources), they were rewarded with diplomas. Simultaneously, presents and rewards were given to the site which had gathered highest number of messages via mobile phones.

According to the nominations the top-10 sites have been revealed out of 900 registered participants. During the rewarding ceremony the mentioned sites were given relevant certificates.

The successful results of competition showed that similar festivals, serving the development of internet service, are attracted by the audience. “National Internet Competition” is the annual festival, therefore it will be held the next year at this time as well.

Due to the decision of jury, category – entertaining resources have been abolished, as it did not meet the conditions of concept of the competition. Moreover, according to their content they were avoided assertion of author’s rights on the released and issued material. 

The amount of money intended on this category has been allotted on the other nominations.
