Two Sources of Radiation Found in the West of Georgia

Tbilisi, 23.07.06, ‘Media News’ – Georgian and foreign experts have discovered two new sources of radiation in the village Iri, Oni region.

The sources where discovered in the frame f the joint project, implemented with the Ministry on Environment and IAEA. According to the representative of the Ministry Mamuka Vezdeni, two sources of Cesium 137 is discovered in the village Iri. One of them is in the yard of the local inhabitant.

The doctors are working in the village to study the health of local inhabitants. The experts will work for the neutralization of radioactive sources.
