Human Rights Are Violated in Sighnaghi Branch of ‘People’s Bank’

The Human Rights Information and Documentation Centre is concerned by the violation of human rights in Sighnaghi branch of ‘People’s Bank’.

The pensioners living in Sighnaghi district informed the centre about the assault from the representatives of the bank. The director of the bank Nana Narindoshvili and her deputy Merab Kandelakishvili are shouting at pensioners, assaulting them and delaying paying of pensions.

The representative of HRIDC has been to the Sighnaghi branch of the bank on the 27th of July. The director of the bank forced him to leave the office, otherwise threatened with calling police. The representative of HRIDC left the building of ‘People’s Bank’ before the police was called.

‘People’s Bank’ cancelled the financial operations in the village Anaga, Sighnaghi region. As a result of that the local administration has not received money for paying salaries to school and kindergarten teachers. The money was transferred to Anaga, when HRIDC demanded it from Nana Narindoshvili.

The Human Rights Information and Documentation Centre calls the head office of ‘People’s Bank’ to immediate reaction.
