Nika Gvaramia: The Government Will Not Use the Law on Extremism
To Detain Its Political Opponents

Tbilisi. 31.07.06. Media News. Nika Gvaramia, member of Juridical Committee at Georgian Parliament, considers being unreasonable those political opponents’ harass, who suspects that the draft law, elaborated by the aforementioned committee on political extremism, will be used to detain them.

According to Gvaramia, it is not settled yet if they start to draw up the bill and if does, each article will be considered in details.

According to him the mentioned draft law does not deal with ‘political self-expression’ and simply the bill will include detail consideration of anti-constitutional and anti-state activities.

Gvaramia also pointed out that, the bill foresees foreign citizen’s criminal responsibility as well what was not regulated by Georgian Criminal Code before.
