Two Radio-active Sources Have Been Rendered Harmless
 In Ambrolauri Region Village, Uravi

Tbilisi. 28.07.06. Media News. Officials from Radiation Safety Department within Georgian Environmental and Natural Resources Ministry rendered harmless two radio-active sources in Ambrolauri region village, Uravi. These sources were placed in the environment quite openly.

According to Ioseb Kakushadze, head of the aforementioned department, radio-active substance, ‘Cesium 137’ had been discovered during a scheduled examination of Racha region. This event took start on 17th July and is already due to end.

One of two radio-active sources was found in the house of a local dweller.

According to Ioseb Kakushadze, both radio-active sources had been placed in a container and carried away to a safer place.

It is not proved yet weather the radio-active sources did any harm to local population.

As Ioseb Kakushadze said, representatives of Environmental Ministry have sent a letter to Labor, Healthcare and Social Welfare Ministry. This Ministry will take care to examine population’s health state in the region.
