Lawyers of a Dead Person’s Family, Who Was Killed during Special Operation, Declare Their Mistrust against Criminal Police Department

Tbilisi. 01.08.06. Media News. Today, Irma Chkadua and Malkhaz Djangirashvili, lawyers of Zurab Vazagashvili’ family, who died during special operation in Tbilisi, appealed to General Prosecutor office.

Lawyers of Zurab Vazagashvili’s family demand to discharge the case from Investigation Department of Tbilisi Prosecutor Office and Criminal Police Department together, to unit it and put in charge of Investigation Department of Prosecutor Office only.

Malkhaz Djangirashvili, lawyer of Zurab Vazagashvili’s family declares that Interior Ministry Criminal Department is investigating the case in a biased way, what is proved by the examination result. “The investigation is conducted very tendentiously. I doubt that officials of Criminal Department fabricate accuse against Zurab Vazagashvili, Aleksanre Khubulov and Buba Buturidze, for, their  version, as if they opened fire against the policemen from the car, is not confirmed. We call up for the society to show interest in this case and support the victim families,”-declared Malkhaz Djangirashvili, lawyer of Zurab Vazagashvili’s family.

On 2nd May 2006 Criminal Department of Georgian Ministry of Interior organized an operation on the right embankment of river the Mtkvari in Tbilisi. Two accused –Zurab Vazagashvili and Aleksandre Khubulovi were killed during the special operation, while Buba Buturidze was badly wounded.
