Sozar Subar Demands Tax Inspection Officials to Be Punished

Tbilisi. 02.08.06. Media news. Public Defender, Sozar Subari applied to Giorgi Ghviniashvili, Tbilisi Prosecutor, to launch Criminal Proceeding against Isani-Samgori and Mtatsminda-Krtsanisi regional Tax Inspection officials - Chichua, Nemsadze and Iatskevich.

According to the information of Public Defender’s Office, on June 16, Tax Inspection officials unreasonably fined Nelson Erunse, owner of a shop based in underground station ‘300 Aragvelebi’ and orally assaulted him.

As Nelson Erunse says, tax Inspector blamed him of not having produced cash-receipt to him and assaulted him for his skin color.

According to the information of Public Defender’s office, tax inspectors explain that they were raiding in underground station ‘300 Aragvelebi’ and during their planned shopping Ernuse did not give cash-receipt to them. It was impossible to fine him at the place, as the shop-owner physically resisted them, and he did the same against underground patrol police, having been called to the place.

According to Davit Devdariani, patrol policeman, who witnessed the incident, he himself entered the shop, as he had heard some noise, though nobody had called for him. As he says, there were three men and a woman in the shop besides its owner and no violence took place there. After the policeman had entered the shop, the three men left it without saying a word.
