Monitoring In Kodori Gorge Is Supposed to Be Commenced By UN Representatives

Tbilisi. 08.08.06. Media News.  Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili declares that the Government consent on admission UN monitoring group in Kodori Gorge, though ‘Russian Military officials would be less represented in it.’

The reason of his statement is firing from Russian Peace-makers’ block posts at Georgian Interior Ministry subunits, situated in Kodori Gorge.

Okruashvili pointed out that at present 40 officers of Defense Ministry are located in Kodori Gorge, who are working on restoration of a bridge.

The Defense Minister himself has returned from the Gorge today, where he spent last three days.
